Friends of the Children's Advocacy Center of Brevard

Mission and Purpose

Mission

To increase awareness of the issues of child abuse and neglect and to raise funding for the Children's Advocacy Center of Brevard, an organization serving abused and neglected children of Brevard County, Florida.

Purpose

The Friends of the Children's Advocacy Center of Brevard is a volunteer group of individuals, comprised from the community, who are organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes to:

  1. Secure and maintain a permanent facility from which the multi-agency professionals on-site at the Children's Advocacy Center of Brevard may provide services to abused and neglected children and their non-offending family members.
  2. Support and encourage the creation of new services and enhance current programs.
  3. Provide financial support for other operating expenses of the Advocacy Center.
  4. Stimulate public awareness of the work of the Children's Advocacy Center of Brevard.

The Friends are responsible for attracting financial resources, and for setting policies and establishing procedures to govern their actions, to ensure that the CACB has the required funding resources to succeed in its mission.

The Friends will acquire an understanding of the resources required to carry out the CACB's mission, prepare plans for soliciting the private funds needed to carry out that mission, and demonstrate good stewardship of the contributions received by overseeing the disposition of those funds.
